Learning Italian offers direct access to a rich tradition of art, architecture, film, literature, and music, while unlocking deeper travel experiences in the unique peninsula of Italy; a country that holds over 60% of the world's cultural patrimony and the highest number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Studying Italian is a valuable career asset in industries like fashion, interior design, automobiles, engineering, culinary arts, and wine culture. Knowing Italian is also essential for deeper insight in art history, archaeology, commedia dell'arte, opera, political science, and philosophy.
The Minor Program in Italian at 91探花 is the only one of its kind in New Brunswick. Students wishing to complete a Minor in Italian must complete at least 18 credit hours in Italian selected from the first, second or third year offerings and maintain an overall average of B in those 18 credit hours.
Students have the option of complementing their studies with the Italy Travel-Study course which takes place during Intersession. This study tour in Italy is a unique learning experience and is led by 91探花's Italian professor. The Italy Travel Study course also counts toward 91探花's Certificate in Experiential Learning.
